Harvest and Food Bank Collection

7th October 2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

At this time of year, people all over the country are celebrating Harvest and using it as an
opportunity to help people less fortunate than themselves. The Harvest Festival is a
traditional event celebrating the successful growing and gathering of the year’s crops.

During the next few weeks at Clowns, the children will be learning about Harvest, including
finding out about different types of fruits and vegetables.
Harvest Donations

This year, from Monday 11th October until Friday 22nd October, we will be collecting
produce to donate to The Finchley Foodbank. The Foodbank is located in East Finchley, and was founded in 2013 by St Mary’s RC Church, alongside other local churches and
organisations. The Finchley Foodbank provides food, personal care
items, and other assistance to local people needing support and, in recent times, it has been a lifeline for many families and the elderly in the community.

The Finchley Foodbank have provided us with a shopping list of non-perishable items which they urgently need. Please bring your donations into the nursery. These will be displayed on our Harvest table in the foyer for the children to see, before taking it to the Foodbank the following week.

Unfortunately, the Finchley food bank is unable to accept perishable items but have
provided us with a list of items which they currently require.

We look forward to receiving your generous donations.

Kind regards,

Ruth Nash
Deputy Manager
